Meet the people behind BARKERS
A great grooming salon is built by people. At BARKERS, every team member brings something different, but the standards they work towards are shared: patience, care, attention to detail and genuine respect for the dogs entrusted to us.
Salon Manager and Senior Groomer
Samantha Gosney
Sam is the owner and driving force behind BARKERS, with more than ten years of experience in the grooming industry. Her passion goes far beyond simply making dogs look beautiful. She has spent years developing her knowledge of dog behaviour, body language, handling and welfare and has a particular interest in nervous, reactive and more challenging dogs.
Qualification: Level 3 OCN Diploma in Dog Grooming
Special interest: Fluffy coats, individual styling and dogs requiring additional understanding.
Junior Dog Groomer and Assistant
Zoe Williams
Zoe has been part of the BARKERS team for several years. She began by building experience in bathing, preparation and handling before progressing into grooming and has become a confident and talented stylist.
Zoe is calm, caring and patient with the dogs and takes genuine pride in her work.
Special interests: Spaniel hand stripping, double coats and teddy style grooms.
Senior Grooming Assistant
Sophie Shill
Sophie has been part of BARKERS for five years and is one of the people responsible for the exceptional preparation behind so many of our finished grooms.
Her particular strength is handling. Sophie has a natural ability with dogs of different personalities and temperaments and works hard to help them feel safe, settled and comfortable.
Special interest: Wool coats and meticulous coat preparation.
Grooming Assistant
Robyn Bodenham
Robyn first joined BARKERS at just 15 years old on work experience and never really left. She quickly fell in love with both the salon and the grooming industry and has grown into a valued member of the team.
Despite being the youngest member of BARKERS, Robyn has already developed excellent preparation and handling skills and a natural way with the dogs.
Grooming Assistant
Katie Taylor
Katie is the longest standing member of the team and has been part of the BARKERS journey from the very beginning.
She is a confident and caring handler with a particular love of larger breeds. The bigger the dog, the happier Katie is.
She is also one of the biggest personalities in the salon and brings plenty of humour and energy to the BARKERS team.
Special interests: Large breeds, anxious dogs and puppies.
