Gentle teeth maintenance with Emmi pet
BARKERS offers Emmi pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning as an ongoing oral care service for suitable dogs.
We use the Emmi pet ultrasonic toothbrush to gently work around the teeth and gums and help soften plaque and build up. Once softened, suitable deposits can be carefully removed using gentle techniques.
The process is quiet and non invasive and we work at the dog's pace throughout.

Is Emmi pet suitable for every dog?
No. Before beginning teeth cleaning, we need to see your dog's mouth and determine whether the service is appropriate.
Your dog also needs to be comfortable enough for us to work safely around their mouth. Dogs with significant dental disease, severe gum problems, painful mouths or heavy build up that requires veterinary treatment will not be suitable for salon teeth cleaning.
Where we have concerns, we will recommend that you speak to your vet. Following veterinary treatment, we may then be able to help maintain cleaner teeth as part of an ongoing routine.

What happens during an appointment?
An Emmi pet appointment normally lasts around 30 minutes. We introduce the process carefully and work according to what the individual dog will tolerate.
We will never force a dog to continue if working around their mouth is causing significant distress.

Ongoing maintenance
For suitable dogs, regular appointments can help reduce plaque and tartar build up, support cleaner teeth and gums and keep breath fresher.
Depending on the individual dog, maintenance appointments may be recommended around every four to eight weeks.

Groomer care is not veterinary dental treatment
Emmi pet grooming appointments are intended for routine maintenance in suitable dogs. They do not replace veterinary dental examinations or veterinary treatment.
If we believe your dog needs veterinary attention, we will tell you rather than attempting to treat a problem outside the appropriate scope of a grooming salon.
